    About this opportunity:Help to create fun and engaging learning experiences for museum visitors at the Scottish Fisheries Museum, by helping with workshops and outreach activities tied.

    Volunteers will support museum staff deliver and create learning activities aimed at schools, families and other visitors. The museum is keen to learn from volunteers and encourage them to share any arts or crafts expertise they have.

    This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to gain experience, develop skills and confidence. Previous experience is not required as training and support will be given. The museum is happy to chat with volunteers about their needs and adapt roles to suit them.

    The key tasks will include:

    -Supporting Museum staff develop and deliver activities.
    -Providing visitors with a positive learning experience.
    -Supporting Museum staff to welcome visitors to events/activities.
    -Encouraging and helping event participants to take part in activities.
    -Helping set up and tidy away events.

    Takes place:

    Minimum age:16
    Maximum age:100
    Training provided:Volunteers will be given an induction and training for all aspects of the role by the Scottish Fisheries Museum Team. They will be supported in their role by the Learning and Engagement Officer as a key point of contact. The team is happy to chat with volunteers about their needs and adapt roles to suit them.
    Out of pocket expenses paid?
    Yes - The Museum will reimburse pre-approved travel expenses. This is capped at £8 a week

    Experience required:No specific experience required, just a willingness to learn new things, an interest in engaging with the public and Scottish history.
